La Roche-Posay Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15

As a young lass with Italian-Scottish heritage, I have the great honor (or is it horror?) of being very pale....and I mean pale and freckly.  With my paleness comes the responsibility of protecting my skin at all times, because I don't tan, I burn.  Actually, I burst into flames!

The key to a great SPF moisturizer is one that leaves a soft sheen to the skin, yet doesn't create an oily film.  You do not want an SPF to drip into your eyes, leave a white cast (do I really need to be paler!), or poorly interact with your makeup.  Thanks to the awareness of skin cancer, there are a lot of great options out there and I have found a new darling that I really adore.

La Roche-Posay Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15 was just given the Instyle Best Beauty Buy of 2009 award, and that's how I was turned onto this brand.  I am always a sucker for award winners and must find out what all the fuss is about.  This is one award that was spot on.  First thing that I noticed was the stunning candlelit glow this cream leaves on the skin.  Most SPF's have too much titanium dioxide that imparts a ghostly glow, but this is such a pretty finish it can almost be used in place of a tinted moisturizer (unless you need more coverage like moi).

The product claims to "contain Mexorylâ„¢ SX, a unique organic UV filter that is highly protective against short UVA waves, provides comprehensive UVA/UVB protection*. Anthelios SX features the first new sun filter in a sunscreen approved by the FDA in 18 years."

It is oil free and non cosmedogenic, so it will not clog your pores and it provides up to 24 hours of glorious hydration.  It also it dermatologist recommended, and amazing for all skin types. For those of you with a sensitive nose, this little gift is also fragrance free.
